I bought this because I thought it looked good, really. I'm not into the whole gothic thing, I just liked the look of it and decided to buy it, and it's really nice to wear. Never really sure which side of the post to hang the chain from, whether it be from the front or the back of the ear... I usually hook it round the front though because I prefer it like that, but that's just me personally. I don't have to get it fitted to your ear, though I suppose it wouldn't work if you have really small ears, so you might want to check the measurements add up with your ear before buying it... I didn't, so mine was kinda pot-luck as to whether it fitted or not.
When you first wear it, it's kinda uncomfortable on the top of your ear where it hooks over the front after a few hours, but after wearing it a few times it just feels normal. You still feel it on your ear, unlike other earrings, but it feels unique.
Putting it in is a bit of a pain, but to be honest, you can see that it would be because of the chain, which is a bit fiddly because it gets caught on your ear when it's supposed to hang down the back, so just play about with it until it's behind the ear and it'll all be good. Also, the bit on the back of the stem you just push on to the back of your ear... I tried doing this in front of the mirror and my hand-eye coordination went funny (as it does with mirrors because I'm a bit of a nonce like that), so now I just feel around without a mirror and find the stem on the back before sliding it on, which is so much easier.
It looks awesome, it feels unique, and I get loads of compliments from people whenever they see it, and it's very easy to see ^^ Totally worth it
