A nape piercing is a surface piercing placed in the centre of the back of the neck. Nape piercings do not pose any danger to nerves and generally heal well.
Nape piercings should be pierced with a surface bar. This piercing is sometimes done with a flexible barbell but this can lead to rejection, so we recommend a suitable surface bar. Nape piercings heal quite easily unless knocked. We recommend taking extra care while dressing and keeping hair away from the piercing – long hair can easily become wrapped around the surface bar. This piercing should be cleaned at least twice daily with saline solution. Avoid swimming and submersion in water until healed.
Nape Piercing Healing Time: 8 to 12 weeks
