An inverse navel piercing is a navel piercing pierced through the lower ridge of the belly button, rather than at the top. Inverse navel piercings work best when the individual has a prominent 'lip' on the bottom edge of the navel, which varies from person to person.
Belly bars (bananabells), large BCRs and circular barbells can be worn in inverse navel piercings. To give an inverse navel piercing the best chance of healing we recommend a belly bar with small balls. Lower navel piercings are more likely to be knocked or snagged by clothing than regular navel piercings so take extra care. This is halfway between a normal piercing and a surface piercing so it can take a long time to heal fully. We recommend regular cleaning for at least 5 months. This piercing should be cleaned at least twice daily with saline solution. Avoid swimming and submersion in water until healed. If this is unavoidable, clean fully afterwards.
Inverse Navel Piercing Healing Time: 12 to 18 weeks
