Tongue web piercings are pierced through the tongue frenulum, which is the tissue that connects the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth. The size of the tongue frenulum varies a great deal from person to person and some people may not be able to get this piercing.
Tongue web piercings can be pierced with a short barbell or small ball closure ring. The tongue frenulum receives a healthy supply of blood and heals quickly. Unfortunately tongue web piercings have tendency to reject and they are not usually a long term piercing. Rinse with suitable mouthwash twice daily and after eating. Avoid alcohol and smoking until piercing is healed.
