A frenulum piercing passes through the frenulum at the base of the glans, on the underside of the penis. Frenulum piercings do not enter the urethra or the main shaft of the penis. They are pierced horizontally across the frenulum and if subsequent frenulum piercings are done below this is called a "frenulum ladder".
Barbells are usually worn in frenulum piercings but a ball closure ring may also be possible, depending on anatomy and preference. Frenulum piercings are considered one of the less painful male genital piercings and usually heal very well. The piercing should be kept cool, clean and dry - we recommend wearing unrestrictive underwear and abstaining from sexual activity until fully healed. Clean with mild soap and water or saline solution daily and avoid swimming or submersion in water until healed, taking showers rather than baths.
Frenulum Piercing Healing Time: 2 to 12 weeks
