Dydoe piercings pass through the edge of the glans, which is known as the "coronal ridge". Dydoe piercings are most popular on circumcised men as a tight foreskin may prevent you from getting this piercing. The size of the coronal ridge will can also affect the viability of this piercing - if it is too "flat" a dydoe piercing may not be possible. Individual anatomy varies so we recommend consulting an experienced body piercer.
Curved barbells are usually worn in a dydoe piercing although ball closure rings are sometimes used. This piercing can reject if improperly placed or irritated during sex, so it should be monitored for signs of rejection. Generally, a dydoe will heal well if kept cool, clean and dry. We recommend wearing unrestrictive underwear and abstaining from sexual activity until the piercing is fully healed. Clean with mild soap and water or saline solution daily and avoid swimming or submersion in water until healed, taking showers rather than baths.
Dydoe Piercing Healing Time: 2 to 12 weeks
