The apadravya piercing travels through the glans from top to bottom and often passes through the urethra. Apadravya piercings are often positioned at a slight diagonal angle, with the top of the bar angled forward. Along with the ampallang, apadravya piercings are considered one of the more painful male genital piercings. Apadravyas are however considered more stable and comfortable, including during sex.
A straight barbell is worn in an apadravya piercing and must be of the correct length. For this reason we recommend measuring the glans while erect and flaccid. Apadravya piercings do not usually migrate but consult your piercer if you notice any changes to the piercing. The piercing should be kept cool, clean and dry - we recommend wearing unrestrictive underwear and abstaining from sexual activity until fully healed. Clean with mild soap and water or saline solution daily and avoid swimming or submersion in water until healed, taking showers rather than baths.
Apadravya Piercing Healing Time: 2 to 12 weeks
