The tragus is the fold of cartilage that sticks out from the front of the ear canal, pointing away from the face. The tragus varies in size but tragus piercings should ideally be placed in the centre of the tragus.
Small barbells, BCRs, labret studs and circular barbells can all be worn in tragus piercings. Some people prefer labret studs because the flat back-plate is less likely to interfere with in-ear headphones. If the tragus is small, micro jewellery can be used. This piercing should be cleaned at least twice daily with saline solution. Avoid swimming and submersion in water until healed.
Tragus Piercing Healing Time: 8 to 16 weeks
