I've used this site numerous times over the years and never ever been disappointed. The white steel tunnels just arrived, and here as promised is my review. I'll try to get you pictures later.
They look good at first glance although not quite as bright-white as I was expecting. Both of them have a flaw on the inside, a white spot that is quite noticeable and feels rough, so I'm glad it's not on the wearable surface. These flaws are identical in size, shape and position which implies that they're caused during manufacture. Easy enough to position the tunnel in-ear to hide them though.
The coating itself is uniform and smooth (feels very nice actually) but unfortunately is quite fragile, especially on the edges of the tunnels. The tunnels themselves are very thin, which might in itself be a problem for the coating on the edge. One of them had a very very tiny chip on the edge, almost invisible, but once I found it I was able to immediately scrape away the coating with my fingernail. It comes off very easily!
Probably just dropping these on a hard floor or letting them rattle together in the same baggie would be enough to chip the coating. (they arrived in separate baggies)
Underneath, the tunnel is polished smooth & shiny - I wonder if the coating might hold better to a less-polished surface, or maybe a different material.
Bear in mind I went looking for flaws and deliberately picked at the coating. For the price they're being sold at, I think they're ok. They're a little bit unusual, very light and comfortable to wear, as long as the coating is intact on the wearable.
I'd recommend adding a little note about taking care not to chip or scrape the surface as the coating will get damaged and flake off - if worn in that state it could irritate piercings, especially if flaky bits get inside a piercing. Same as the older enamel-coated stuff really.
