Darkside Black Acrylic Spiral - 18mm. (By neurotic_lullaby - 11 Mar, 2009)

I bought this product in 18mm to stretch my 16mm lobe piercings, as it was the only product I could seem to find which would stretch my ears to the size I wanted.
When my packaging arrived and I intentionally saw the item I was shocked at how big it was (with an overall diameter of an estimate of about 6cm), but once I used it I realised it fit nicely and wasn't particularly heavy or troublesome to wear.

before I stretched my ears I lubricated both the piercing and the spiral in order to make the whole process easier, but found that by doing this the spiral would often just slip out. - So o-rings would probably have been a good thing to consider.

The process was quick and much less painful than other stretching products I had used and I found that I could wear new 18mm tunnels after just a few hours of wearing the spiral. This however has been a different story for my left lobe, as every time I seem to put the spiral in, the weight of it causes it to fall out, causing the constant pulling on the ear to just make stretching hurt. - So I guess this will take a few more days, and right now I have hair bands tired onto the other end to keep it from falling out as even 16mm o-rings didn’t seem to do the trick.

Overall this is a nice design and stretching tool which gives off the impression of a giant hoop earring, but its not at all discreet and often tangles around my hair. Definitely the best stretcher I've used, because its not like a taper which just pulls on the ear, and its very comfortable to sleep in. But unless you pull the spiral all the way through the ear to the desired stretch then it’ll just fall out and look abit weird.

super easy to put in and take out, while i was stretching i used rubber O's to hold in place otherwise i found it in my bed in the morning instead of in my ear! i bought Fimo in pink and white so i'm going to make more, woo! <3

These spirals are GREAT! as i've moved up to 16mm I have found these so easy to use! they look great and they make stretching so simple and easy AND no little o rings to loose!

I never thought spirals could be this comfortable. The overall size of the spiral is perfect, not too small and not too big!

And they look really cool =p

this is the 2nd one i will be buying of this as im uping my size but it felt so comfy and looked so good i had to get it in the next size really pleased with it and recomend it highly
