Default What's a good way to stop the itching?

It's about to drive me bonkers.. I got a vertical tragus last Tuesday. It's itching like crazy, of course I can't scratch it, it's still a little sore so :(

Though, every now and then I forget it's a new piercing and I go to scratch, then I'm like OW!!

Edited to add: I have been doing regular soaks with the sea salt solution, btw.

You could try itching with Q tips.

You might have been pierced with surgical steel, some people are allergic to it, it might help to switch to titanium to finish your healing with.

Itching is a sign of healing, and one of those things we must put up with I'm afraid! My best advice is to keep the piercing clean. Also, rinsing after your sea salt soaks may help to reduce the itching.
Be thankful it's not a tattoo, the "tattoo healing itch" can drive the most sane people stark raving mad.

thanks for all the replies. I have been using the SSS, but wasn't rinsing afterwards, so I'm starting that now. It has helped a small amount. I think I must just be an itchy type person and maybe it's just more noticeable when I can't scratch.

Ruby, I've gotten 3 tattoos in the last month, and my, yes.. the after-itching will sometimes drive me bonkers.
