labret piercing sore and itching
hey,
basically as thread title says. I had piercing done sat and has been fine. I do the aftercare as said but today its feeling a bit sore and really itchy. any ideas? is it just part of the normal healing process?
any info/advice gratefully recieved
piercings I HAVE : are tragus, labret, munroe,lobe stretch 7mm and 4mm
HAD : nipple and eyebrow
WANT : rook, wrist, nape

What aftercare routine are you following?
If you SSS are you rinsing well afterwards?
What type of jewellery do you have in there?
What is the jewellery made from?
A bit sore is understandable but really itchy sounds like it's being irritated by something.Piercings: Ears: 2x7mm lobes, 5 lobes, 5 helix, daith, 3 tragus, conch. double nostrils, 2mm septum, philtrum (12 retired).

As above we could do with a little more info if possible. Specially around what the jewellery is made from, and your aftercare.

thanks for responses. it was pierced using a stainless bar. and have been sss bathing it twice a day follwed by splashing with fresh water after. seems like the itching mainly first thing or if i talk to much (maybe a sign lol) ive also been using the non alcohol mouth wash after food. i dont fiddle with the piercing. do you think mayne im not rinsing it enough afterwards?

Go to a good piercer and get them to change the bar to titanium or PTFE, you could be having a reaction to the nickel in the steel.

The steel labret studs needs out... a titanium or bio plastic needs in. I also think you are over cleaning it.. just clean it as and when it needs it.

As long as you are taking care of it properly itching happens when your body is healing so it's normal and it's a good thing. Try not to scratch it too much, you could irritate the piercing. The itching should go away within a few days.

Present: Both lobes x2 (1 of which is stretched to 6g), Spiderbites, Nostril, Double helix, Belly button, Tongue.
Future: (Undecided) Conch, Tragus, Indistrial.
*No tattoos yet but someday I want to get a few small meaningful ones and a giant koi fish on my side.*

A bit itchy is normal when healing, OP says its really itchy. It sounds more like an allergic reaction to the steel.
