    Default Bumps after "snug" piercing?

If you've seen my first thread, you know why "snug" has the quotations around it.

Well, there's a small bump forming around the first exit hole, which I'm assuming to be a keloid. I'm going to continue to sea-salt soak it in hope to diminish its sizing.

However, on the back of my ear, directly behind the piercing, is an almost pimple-like bump forming. Is there anyway to fix it? Or should I go to a doctor about it.

I hope it's nothing so harmful that I have to retire the piercing, because I'm actually really attached to it.

Any help is appreciated, including YOUR treatments for bumps, keloids, etc.

Keloids are much much rarer than most people think and are often misdiagnosed hypertrophic scarring which it sounds like you might have forming on both holes (does the pimple look and feel like the other bump?)

I haven't seen your other thread but i'm assuming this rook is a bit misplaced and this will probably be why the bumps have happened as hypertrophic scarring is to to irritation. To get rid of the bumps you need to lessen the irritation so you might need a jewellery change or just something simple like stopping sleeping on it!

Adding chamomile tea once a day to your sss instead of plain water will also really help to shift the bumps (takes a couple of weeks for them to disappear usually).

The pimple-like bump isn't anything like the bump on the actual hole. This one feels just like a pimple starting to form, but it's on the back of my ear, directly behind the piercing. Like, no where near holes or anything.

Irritation might have caused it. My boyfriend has a bad habit of knocking it when he hugs me or something. I don't sleep on it too often because it's still a bit painful.

And it wasn't misplaced persay. It's a properly placed snug piercing, it just happens to continue through to the auricle. It's two holes connected by one long barbell. It was a shorter barbell, which I changed to a longer one for swelling.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hehe I see well, it sounds like this is going to be a difficult one to heal if its that deep / long but since the only trouble you are having is a 'normal' bump it sounds like you're doing ok!

The tea should really help the bump on the front and the pimple is probably just that - a pimple! If its not on nor next to the piercing holes don't worry about it!

Well technically it was misplaced, seeing as you asked for a snug and got two piercings!
    Still...what Kuku said!

    A long time after:

It's a keloid. I went to another piercer who my friend trusts, and has a lot of good reviews, and they looked at it and said it's a keloid. Keeping it in is just a matter of personal opinion, but if it gets bigger to take it out.
